SAN AGUSTIN (DAPA) CHAPEL
The barangay is popularly known as Dapa, meaning to lay down flat on the ground. One of the men of Antero Dizon, the leader of the "tulisan" carved an image of San Agustin in the trunk of a tree and then left it behind when they were scattered. The Negritoes found it and brought it to the barrio. A devoted Catholic donated a piece of land, had a chapel built. It was believed that as years go by, the image grew bigger and bigger and it was miraculous. It cured smallpox and other diseases. It is said also that sometimes the image was too heavy that nobody can lift it and if no candles are lighted in front of it, it goes roaming around the barrio.
