HISTORY OF CAMIAS
The present name of the barrio is Camias. It's patron saint is Nuestra Senora del Remedios.
The name of the barrio was derived from the name of a tree that grow around the place. These were the Camias. It has no sitio.
The date of the establishment of the barrio is unknown.
The original family was Don Doroteo Morales and his wife Anselma Pineda who were owner of the whole barrio. Later on their land was transferred to Capitan Teopisto Ganzon and his wife Eugenia Gonzales. Then it was inherited by their son Emilio Moreno. The next owners are Gerardo Rioseco and the heirs of Rosario D. Lacson.
In 1901, the American forces came to the barrio to get the Katipuneros. The barrio people were afraid of the Americans at first but when they found out that they are not cruel like the Spaniards, people did not fear them anymore.
In June 1939, a five hundred square meters site was donated by Rosario Gomez Vda de Lacson for a school building. In 1940, a one room school was constructed by the national gov't and the first teacher was Consuelo Dalentar.
