HISTORY OF SAN AGUSTIN
The present day of the barrio is San Agustin. It is popularly known as Dapa, meaning to lay down flat on the ground. This was the order of the lieutenant of the revolutionary forces to his soldiers.
The barrio has three sitios - Payapa, Balibago, and Balas. Payapa is meant peaceful because the soldiers who retreated in that sitio were not molested and stayed there peacefully. Balibago is the place where there are plenty of Balibago trees. The bark of these trees is used for making rope. Balas is meant sandy.
The date of establishment of the barrio was in 1880. The original families were Cirila N. dela Cruz, Basiliso Decena and Cabesang Reymundo Feliciano.
